Greetings,
Welcome to Jamestown, we are all so glad you are here. I just wanted to take a quick moment to tell you a little bit about St. John’s. We are an ELCA Lutheran Church located next to Hugo’s grocery store. We have many different opportunities for UJ students to participate in our weekly goings on. The main opportunity I would like to lift up is our weekly Wednesday worship and supper, which I affectionately call 3 dub and grub. We gather together for a casual worship at 5:30 pm and then gather around the table together for a meal around 6:15. This is a come as you are worship, no need for Sunday best here. The other major opportunity we will be offering this year is a bible study for young adults. We will be gathering on Sunday evenings for some fellowship, bible study and a meal.
Now to tell you a little bit about myself. I am one of the pastors at St. John’s. I have been called to serve people in the first third of life (aka birth to 40ish). When I was in college I always wanted to have a place to call my home church but could never quite find that place, I hope St. John’s can be that place for you. I live near campus so sometimes events will be at my house where my dog will gladly let you play with him. I spend most of Thursday on campus. I normally camp out by the Java Hut or in L1 then attend chapel. I am also one of the co-advisors for the Habitat for Humanity spring break trip. Now that you know a little bit about me I hope you will stop me, introduce yourself to me so I can get to know you a little bit. When you see, me mention this note and I may just have a gift for you. Hope to see you at the block party and picnic, too!
